ENTERAL DETOXICATION BY MEANS OF POLYMETHYLSILOXANE IN THE COMPLEX TREATMENT OF SEPTIC FORMS OF ACUTE HEMATOGENOUS OSTEOMYELITIS IN NEWBORNS, 1991

With regard for the role of bacterial and viral toxins' and proteases in the pathogenesis of septic forms of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis, the use of enteral detoxication in the pediatric practice has been substantiated. The authors within 1988—1989, in 35 newborns with septic forms of acute hematogenous osteomyelitis used for detoxication the «Enterosgel» preparation. Control of the state of patients was accomplished by means of bacteriologic, biochemical and immunologic methods. A high detoxicative and antiinflammatory activity of the preparation and its harmlessness for the newborns have been proved.
ENTEROSGEL MEDICAL PREPARATION - THE RESULTS OF CLINICAL EFFICIENCY IN PATIENTS WITH DIGESTIVE SYSTEM-RELATED PATHOLOGY, 1999

CONCLUSION: A total of 20 patients with chronic diarrhea (chronic enterocolitis, post-resection syndrome) was under clinical observation. In addition to the standard therapy, patients received Enterosgel in a daily dose of 45 g (per 15 g 3 times a day) for 14 days. The control group consisted of 18 patients comparable by primary diagnosis, gender and age. Therapeutic efficiency was evaluated according to the clinical data, coprological studies, dynamics of colonic microflora, endoscopic and histological analyses, immune status-related study and the complex biochemical research. A high clinical efficiency of Enterosgel preparation has been determined and its positive effect on the intestinal mucosa condition, digestion and absorption processes, the composition of small and large intestine-related microflora. The immunomodulative effect has been identified as conditioned by the normalization of eubiosis and the decreased inflammation activity in the intestinal mucosa. There were not revealed any side events and cases of intolerance when using the Enterosgel enterosorbent. Enterosgel is being recommended for a widespread use in the treatment of chronic digestive diseases that are accompanied by diarrhea syndrome and eubiosis impairment of small and large intestine. A long-term application of Enterosgel is purposeful to get the persistent therapeutic effect.
The problem of elimination of toxic substances from the body is one of the most pressing in pediatrics. Hemosorption, hemodialysis and plasmapheresis has been successfully used in pediatric practice for a long time; however, the risk of their use may exceed expediency in some cases (for example, in case of moderate toxicity). Pediatricians have been always interested in non-invasive detoxification methods, in this context we have piloted Enterosgel, a new enterosorbent, in addition to infusion therapy, plasmapheresis, and in some cases as the unique detoxification therapy.
APPLICATION OF THE MEDICATION ENTEROSGEL IN TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH ACUTE ENTERIC INFECTIONS, 1998

Thus, taking into account the results obtained, one can recommend the application of Enterosgel in treatment of the patients suffered from dysentery and salmonellosis. At the same time, one should appreciate that it is wise to administer the drug as early as possible after the onset of disease. Drug administration in the first day of disease allows one to avoid the etiotropic therapy upon mild and average-severe forms of dysentery. Drug administration in earlier terms allows one to reduce the duration of detoxication and rehydration therapy in the case of salmonellosis and to reduce the terms of bacterioexcretion in the case of hospital-acquired salmonellossis.
POLYMETHYLSILOXANE SORBENTS IN THE COMPLEX TREATMENT OF ALLERGODERMATOSES, 1996
Peculiarities of allergodermatoses of different origin have been studied. Using the obtained results and taking into account clinical the characteristic, complex technique for allergodermatoses treatment with the use of enterosorption and application sorption with new preparations based on polymethyloxane sorbing gels and immobilized on their basis phytopreparations and antibiotics was developed. The new method proved to be highly effective for the treatment of the patients.
The present problem’s urgency is known to steam from a practical lacking of any important advances in treatment modalities for as common diseases as pathological conditions of the small intestine with allergic manifestations as well as those due to the gastric and small intestine resections of different length (malabsorption syndrome), colonic pathology with dysbiosis manifestations (irritable bowel syndrome, constipation syndrome). At the same, it should be mentioned that the disponible modalities of selective enterosorption and nutritional correction of impaired homeostasis are not utilized sufficiently enough.
ENTEROSGEL IN THE COMPLEX THERAPY OF ALLERGIC DISEASES, 1998
Thus, Enterosgel is a highly-active safe drug, which is well-tolerated by patients. Administration of Enterosgel in the complex therapy of patients with allergic diseases allows reduction of the terms of hospital treatment of patients by 10-15%, decreasing the need for antihistamine drugs, glucocorticoids, and bronchial spasmolytics, and reducing the treatment expenses by 15-20%.
USE OF ORAL ADSORBENT ENTEROSGEL IN THE COMPLEX TREATMENT OF GESTOSIS, 1991
1. Gestosis is characterized by the development of endotoxic syndrome, which manifests itself by increased level of myoglobin and medium-weight compounds in blood plasma.
2. In case of gestosis higher IgЕ and CIC levels are recorded, suggesting active autoimmune processes.
3. In pregnant women with gestosi,s blood flow between the uterus and placenta is reduced at the expense of increasing tone of medium and small vessels.
4. Complex therapy involving use of Enterosgel helps to detoxify the body effectively (reduced myoglobin content and middle molecules in the blood), which leads to the fact that in the pregnant women the load on liver and kidneys reduces.

USE OF ENTEROSGEL IN THE TREATMENT OF ALCOHOL INTOXICATION AND ITS CONSEQUENCES, 1990

Recently, the most challenging problem of narcology is treatment of alcohol intoxication, removal of drunkenness and reduction of withdrawal syndrome.
The complexity of massive elimination of the consequences of alcohol intoxication and treatment of acute psychosomatic disorders arising from it is a result of highly polymorphic disorders associated with significant changes in homeostasis.
An important factor in worsening of these conditions is disruption of the detoxification function of liver and excretory function of kidneys in people consuming alcohol excessively.
Detoxification herapy is the leader in a group of curative measures aimed at correcting homeostasis disorders and reduction of toxic effects of alcohol.
ADSORPTION ACTIVITY OF ENTEROSGEL TOWARD ROTAVIRUS, 1997

Every year the range of problems associated with use of sorption technologies in various fields of medicine is expanding. Growing use of sorption processes, in turn, leads to improvement of the properties of older types of sorbents and creation of new sorbents with improved properties and enhanced sorption selectivity toward certain substances. Comparative medico-biological studies of various polymeric materials has shown prospectivity of medical use of organopolysiloxane adsorbents, particularly of polymethylsiloxane (PMS) and its hydrogel, Enterosgel, which consists of a spatially cross-linked porous matrix with a rigid globular structure formed by siloxane chain containing methyl and partially uncondensed hydroxyl groups in silicon atoms. The presence of hydrocarbon radicals provides high affinity of Enterosgel to organic substances (organophilic properties), that is to the toxic metabolites of various nature. In contrast to the known carbon sorbents and highly dispersity silicas, Enterosgel is characterized by apparent selectivity.
USE OF ENTEROSGEL IN THE TREATMENT OF ROTAVIRUS INFECTION IN THE NEWBORNS, 1997

The results of clinical and laboratory research confirmed high efficiency of use of Enterosgel in the treatment of newborn infants with rotavirus infection. Regarding the data collected, it is possible to draw a conclusion about the possibility and the need to use Enterosgel for treatment of diarrhea caused by rotavirus in newborns and prevention of infectious complications.
EFFECT ENTEROSORBENT ENTEROSGEL ON THE LIVER CONDITION OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC INTERNAL EXPOSURE INCORPORATED RADIONUCLIDES, 1990

1. After work in the exclusion zone, functional state disorder of the liver is developed in healthy people.
2. In patients with of chronic liver diseases, deterioration of liver function was revealed after work in the exclusion zone.
3. Application of adsorbent Enterosgel promoted intensive release of radionuclides from the body tissues and their excretion in the adsorbed form with feces, which justifies the use of sorbent in contamination.
4. Accelerated release of radionuclides was the result of a general detoxifying action of Enterosgel and process of their direct binding in the GIT lumen.
5. Enterosgel provides effective detoxification, direct and indirect decorporation of radionuclides and improves the functional state of the liver.
6. We have also proved that administration of Enterosgel at work in the radioactive contamination area can be seen as immunoprotective method with indirect mechanism of action.
7. Enterosgel shows hepatoprotective effect in healthy people and to a lesser extent - in patients with chronic liver disease.
8. In case of chronic administration of radionuclides, the most pronounced effect is achieved with the repeated courses of the adsorbent Enterosgel.
ON ESTABLISHMENT OF LARGE-SCALE PRODUCTION AND HEALTHCARE IMPLEMENTATION OF NOVEL HIGHLY EFFECTIVE POLYORGANOSILOXANE-BASED ADSORBENT DRUGS WITH DETOXIFYING EFFECT, 1994

Novel intestinal and topical adsorbent drugs with detoxifying effect (studies were conducted in 1980-1990 by order of Main Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine) were widely evaluated in military medical facilities. The Military Hospital of Kyiv (nowadays the Main Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine) participated in the medical and biological evaluation of novel drugs from the beginning of their development (V.N. CONCLUSIONS AND PRACTICAL GUIDELINES
The medication Enterosgel offered by the enterprise "SILMA" approved itself as the efficient agent for treatment of various allergic pathology. Taking of Enterosgel by patients having the atopic genesis of bronchial asthma and dermatitis helps to arrest the broncho-obstructive syndrome and skin syndrome due to adsorption of allergens. Enterosgel allowed patients to withdraw from antihistamine drugs, reduce the administration time of bronchial spasmolytics. It showed a high clinical activity in the therapy of both acute and chronic digestive diseases.
Thus, Enterosgel is the efficient supplement to conventional treatment of allergic and gastrointestinal diseases in children.
The performed analysis showed that administration of Enterosgel in treatment of the patients with enteroidea allowed reducing the duration of hospital stay by 2-3 days, which is due to a faster normalization of stool and disappearance of the guiding symptoms. No adverse and hypersensitivity reactions were detected upon its administration.
Thus, the data obtained allows one to consider Enterosgel as a more efficient enterosorbent compared to Smecta.
